Better Business Bureau – Torch Awards Finalists!

The Dallas Business Journal once again partnered with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Serving North Central Texas in Dallas in 2018 to confer the highest award on businesses that the Better Business Bureau bestows. Thirteen counties in North Texas are represented by the BBB chapter. And this year, from those thirteen counties, sixteen Torch Award for Ethics (TAE) finalists were recognized at a luncheon held Thursday, November 1 at the Plano Granite Park Hilton.

According to the Better Business Bureau, “The Torch Awards for Ethics (TAE) honors companies who demonstrate best practices in leadership character and high standards of organizational ethics that benefits their customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and communities.” Entrants must have been in business at least three years and provide official evidence of financial integrity.

Phillips Home Improvements of Plano, TX was honored to be recognized among the esteemed finalists for the 2018 Torch Awards. “A common thread that connected (Phillips with other) finalists and winners was the practice of turning away business when it would conflict with the unerring ethics instilled by company leaders”, reflected staff writer for Dallas Business Journal. Phillips indeed prides itself in providing “customer service and workmanship beyond (homeowners’) expectations”; and when unable to do so on a project due either to work requested beyond our scope or risking damage to homeowners or their property, Phillips must take a pass on the business.

Phillips congratulates all of the Torch Award winners chosen. “It is a privilege and responsibility as Torch Award finalists to remain lights in the business community, setting ever higher
