Phillips Home Improvements Proud to Win BBB’s Coveted 2019 Torch Award for Ethics
The Dallas Business Journal once again partnered with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Serving North Central Texas in Dallas to confer the highest award on businesses that the Better Business Bureau bestows. Thirteen counties in North Texas are represented by the BBB chapter. And this year, from those thirteen counties, twenty Torch Award for Ethics (TAE) finalists were recognized for integrity in business at a celebration held Wednesday, November 20th at the posh yet modern Canopy Hotel by Hilton Dallas Uptown.
Selected for spots in six categories determined by organizational size, DFW companies were evaluated on the integrity and ethics behind business dealings as demonstrated by their leadership’s commitment to, communication of, and unity of the team around ethical practices, performance management practices, commitment to treasuring people, and commitment to enthusiastically reinvesting in the community. Entrants must have been in business at least three years and were required to provide official evidence of financial integrity.
Phillips Home Improvements of Plano, TX was honored to be recognized among the esteemed finalists, and was selected out of 30 other small businesses to win the 2019 Torch Award for Ethics. Phillips congratulates all of the Torch Award finalists and winners chosen and thanks the Dallas Business Journal and BBB for recognizing Phillips’ ethics in business.
“It is a privilege and responsibility as Torch Award winners to remain lights in the business community, setting ever-higher standards for ourselves and other businesses to follow in the DFW area,” remarked Jason Phillips, CEO and President of Phillips Home Improvements at the awards program. “Phillips has always believed that when we play fair, everybody wins.”
On a lighter note, when asked by the master of ceremonies of the event which celebrity each CEO would choose to run their company, Mr. Phillips responded, “Arnold Schwartzeneger as the Terminator, because he would terminate all the woes and challenges that our homeowners experience with their homes on a daily basis.” And while humorous, that is precisely the foundation on which Jason Phillips began his business in 1997 and continues to do business today: the desire to provide peace of mind to homeowners by protecting one of their most valuable investments, their home. Phillips is proud to be recognized for doing just that, providing peace of mind to homeowners by doing business ethically in DFW for 22 years running.
